Tonya Johannsen shares expertise on handling disputes among owners, architects, and contractors in Dallas Bar Association’s latest edition of Headnotes
Tonya Johannsen is pleased to contribute to the latest edition of the Dallas Bar Association’s official monthly publication, Headnotes. In her article, “Owners, Architects & Contractors: Why Can’t We All Just Get Along?”, Ms. Johannsen discusses the potential of disputes in fast-moving, complicated commercial construction projects.
While owners, architects and contractors share a goal is to create a quality project, conflicts often arise when timelines change, documents are found to be incomplete, or design alterations are made. In her article, Tonya reflects on the important questions that are often raised in such situations and proposes a collaborative tripartite agreement as an effective and efficient solution. She elaborates on the pertinent features of these three-party agreements and how they can help protect from fear of lawsuits and arbitration.
